First Birthday Party
December 16, 2006So one amazing thing about being fired is that I can go to Dorothy’s First Birthday party tonight. I’ve never really been to someone’s first birthday so it should be interesting. We all know it’ll end with game of Settlers – let’s not kid ourselves here. But I picked out some nice presents for the little wobbler. I’ve always been a huge fan of those puppets that you can use as a wash cloth for little kids. Since D-Day hates to have her face wiped, I assumed that she’d probably hate a bath. Thus, I got her (well her parents) a cool little duck puppet/washcloth and some rubber ducks for the tub. A little distraction makes a painful process that much more bearable. And she’ll need a good wash after tonight’s party. I don’t know if it’s a common thing with most people, but the Huff’s like to bake a really fancy cake for a kid’s first birthday – tonight’s will be a chocoalte raspberry. We bake it and then the kid gets to just RIP it apart. Throw it, suuuure. Smash it in your hair, suuure. Whatever you’d like – you don’t even have to EAT the cake. We call that the rights of the birthday baby.
I didn’t really feel that compelled to write about all of this. Mainly, I wanted to test the new border for my flickr photo. Another challenge from the master of code mayhem, Eli Duke. I’m surprised that I could figure out so much about what I needed to change in the code from just poking around online. Niiiice.

lookin’ good, pete. i took look at the source for this page, and i couldn’t help but notice that you have a “span” that is after the image source that is doing nothing but occupying the space below the image. see how the text doesn’t wrap around the bottom of the image? look into that.
