yet another cyber-claim in the name of peter matthew huff.

about a week ago, i was sitting at the only wifi place in noblesville typing a blog to be posted on myspace. there was some wit about peak oil and how a cartoon could stave off the societal change that will most certainly occur in our lifetime in regard to where we get our energy from. it’d be fortunate if i could express this gem in my first entry, but i pretty much don’t care to type it out at the moment. presently, i sit with a beer and a sinking sun outside of encore cafe and have realized that there are many pieces of myself on the internet. i’m not sure if my livejournal is still up and running; my facebook account is still alive and kicking; the myspace jones is pounding; and now wordpress is in full effect. this is a step recommended by eli with an option to make it more “grown-up” in the future.

getting back to my noblesville wifi experience, the tail end of my entry to myspace was a call to someone who is web-savvy to set up a website that would simply be a means to keep track of everyone’s contact information. this is the gap that myspace and facebook fills – people join and stay on as a means to keep in touch with each other. taken alone, it’s cool – there is the ability to post and listen to music, bands to get their stuff out there, and connect with similar interests. but i don’t like fox. and as thoreau writes in civil disobedience “what i have to do is to see at any rate, that i do not lend myself to the wrong which i condemn.” this quote has driven me to find a way to blog, but not via fox.

so we’ll see how this one goes. i’m keeping the wordpress account on a month or two trial to see how it goes. if i like it, i may move up to paid domain as a means to keep in touch with everyone during my year on the road. it’d be nice to have a forum for photos as well.

for now, i’m off to bake some bread, make a salad, and watch the rest of apocalypse now. fucking a.
